What is MAPP Pricing and Why do I Have to Request a Quote?
Some manufacturers place into effect "Minimum Advertised Price Policies" or MAPP. The purpose of this policy is to promote and protect their brand image. MAPP Policies prevent retailers from advertising below the MAPP Price. This does not, however, prevent the retailer from selling the product for less.
Manufacturers are very strict with violations of MAPP. Each manufacturer has different requirements regarding MAPP. There are even a few that require you call for best price.
